What is the Pro-Stride system?

Pro-Stride, Restigen and Centrate are medical devices that allow blood from horses to be processed into solutions that can be used for therapy. Autologous protein solution (APS), PRP and concentrates from bone marrow aspirate can be prepared in less than 30 minutes. The system is suitable for outpatient use and incubation is not required. The closed system makes it a safe procedure with minimal risk of contamination.

Platelet-rich plasma, Restigen PRP

Restigen PRP is used primarily for tendon and ligament injuries, lameness and wound healing. During the 15-minute process, PRP is isolated and injected into the injured area. The Restigen PRP device consistently delivers more than 90% platelets at a 9X concentration.

Pro-Stride APS

Pro-Stride APS is a two-part system that provides an all-natural therapy for horses. In the first tube, the separator, the collected blood is processed into an enriched PRP. By further concentrating this PRP in the second tube with polyacrylamide beads, the autologous protein solution (APS) is obtained. This consists of a concentrated solution of white blood cells, platelets, growth factors (IGFI, HGF, TGF-β, PDGF, FGF2, VEGF, EGF) and anti-inflammatory cytokines (IRAP/IL1ra, sIL1R, sTNFRI and II, IL-10). This combination of molecules not only neutralizes inflammatory factors, but also supports the healing process of damaged tissue. Pro-Stride is successfully used in horses with osteoarthritis (OA), it is injected into the joint.

The bone marrow concentrate, CenTrate BMA

CenTrate is a patented bone marrow aspirate processing device that produces a natural suspension of plasma proteins. CenTrate is used for cartilage injuries, bone defects and tendon injuries, among others. The system is designed so that bone marrow does not need to be filtered for processing. Compared to bone marrow, the concentration of MSCs is 5-19 times higher. The process to obtain this concentrate takes only 15 minutes.
