Composition
Equip EHV is a suspension for injection. Each 1.5 ml dose of Equip EHV contains:
Active substance:
Inactivated EHV type 1, strain 438/77……………..≥107.3 TCID50
Inactivated EHV type 4, strain 405/76……………..≥107.3 TCID50
Adjuvants:
Carbopol 934P…………………………………………………6 mg
Indication
For the active immunisation of horses and ponies to reduce the incidence of respiratory disease and viral shedding caused by infection with equine herpes virus types 1 and 4 (EHV-1 and EHV-4) and to reduce the incidence of abortion caused by infection with EHV-1.
Dosage and administration
One 1.5 ml dose per horse to be administered by deep intramuscular injection. Shake well before use.

Primary course:
- A single dose should be administered from 5 to 6 months of age followed by a second injection after an interval of 4 to 6 weeks.
- In the event of increased infection risk, for example when a foal had consumed insufficient colostrum or there is a risk of early exposure to field infections with EHV-1 or EHV-4, an earlier vaccination may be given. In these circumstances, the foal should receive a single dose from 3 to 4 months of age, followed by the above mentioned full primary vaccination.
Booster:
- Following completion of the primary course, a single dose should be administered every 6 months
Use in pregnant mares:
- To reduce the incidence of abortion due to EHV-1 infection, pregnant mares should be vaccinated during the 5th, 7th and 9th month of pregnancy with a single 1.5ml dose of each occasion.

Store and transport refrigerated at +2°C to +8°C
