Available soon at Grovet; Oxtra DD
Oxtra DD is a bacteriostatic antibiotic with high bioavailability and a broad antibacterial spectrum that includes both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Oxtra DD achieves effective concentrations both in deep tissues and intracellularly. Oxytetracycline inhibits protein synthesis in susceptible bacteria by binding to the receptors on the 30S subunit, preventing the addition of amino acids to the growing peptide chain, thereby halting protein synthesis.
Thanks to its special formulation, Oxtra DD can be administered intramuscularly every 24 hours, either in a low dosage or in a higher dosage for prolonged action (in cattle, sheep, and pigs). Unlike most injectable oxytetracyclines, Oxtra DD can also be safely administered intravenously.
