The Paniolo Leg Splint
The Paniolo Leg Splint is designed for use in emergency situations (such as during competitions), post-operative applications and in neonatal animals. Various sizes are available for horses and ponies.
The Leg Splint is easy to apply, remove and reapply to the animal. The Paniolo Leg Splint sets in 10-20 minutes after application.
It provides support for fractures, damaged tendons and ligaments and can be used on both adult and young animals. The Paniolo Leg Splint is made of breathable material and can be washed and dried out.
There are four different sizes for horses starting at six months of age:
- Small - 100cm long x 15cm wide - this sits just below the carpus/tarsus
- Medium - 120cm x 15cm - this sits just on the carpus/tarsus
- Medium+ - 120cm x 16.5cm - this should sit just on the carpus/tarsus
- Large - 140cm x 15cm - this comes up above the carpus/tarsus
There are five sizes for foals:
- Foal Large - 140cm x 12.5cm
- Foal small - 100cm x 12.5cm
- Foal extra small - 80cm x 11cm
- Dorsal splint - 32cm x 14cm - this is a dorsal splint with a much thicker exterior and is very sturdy. For use in newborn foals with congenital defects. Available with or without foam

Paniolo Peelable casting tape
Paniolo peelable casting tape offers a sturdy and lightweight polyester cast that can be peeled off without sawing. Suitable for horses and all other animals.
No hazardous dust is created upon removal unlike conventional fiberglass that can cause irritation of eyes, skin and lungs.
Easily adaptable to body parts such as the elbow, carpus, tarsus, metacarpus and metatarsus.
Peelable casting tape is ideal for use on foals and small animals because it prevents traumatic moments and avoids use of anesthesia when removing the cast.
