Feline SAA Test 15 pcs
The VMRD Feline SAA test measures serum amyloid A (SAA) in feline serum or plasma. SAA is an inflammatory biomarker that helps to diagnose infection and monitor treatment efficacy in multiple species, including cats. It is more sensitive and reliable than body temperature and WBC count for detecting acute infections, as it is highly dynamic in response to systemic inflammation. As infection resolves, SAA decreases rapidly.
This 10-minute lateral flow test can easily be run in-clinic, with numerical results provided by the handheld VMRD Reader.
Indications d'utilisation
1. Attach Feline SAA calibration card
Ensure lot-specific Feline SAA calibration card is attached to the reader.
2. Fill capillary
Remove protective cover from capillary and place tip into sample at an angle. Allow to fill, which measures the sample volume needed (5 μL).
Avoid introducing bubbles. If needed, wipe excess sample from outside of capillary without touching end.
3. Puncture foil
Use conical cap to fully puncture foil seal of dilution tube. Do not use capillary tip.
4. Firmly seat dropper top
Assemble dropper by firmly inserting base of dropper top into mouth of dilution tube. Ensure dropper top is seated tightly in dilution tube.
5. Shake horizontally
Shake dropper horizontally for 3-5 seconds to thoroughly mix sample with diluent.
6. Snap reader on top of cartridge
Press button to turn on (shows last result)
Press button again for 'ready'
7. Unscrew cap from dropper
8. Discard initial drops
9. Add 3 drops to the cartridge
Short-press button (<1 sec) for a timed read (10 min) Button should not be pressed for >1 sec unless an instant read of a completed test is desired. Reader will shut off automatically after 50 sec of inactivity.

Interpretation of results
• 0 to 10 μg/mL - Normal SAA
• 10 to 30 μg/mL - Possible developing or resolving systemic issue — recommend retesting in 24 hours
• 30+ μg/mL - indicates systemic inflammation, likely infection
